Payments at Nepean Diagnostics

At Nepean Diagnostics, we offer our diagnostic imaging services to everyone.

Bulk Billed Imaging Services

For out-patients, most of our diagnostic imaging services are bulk billed.

In some cases, your tests or procedures may attract an out-of-pocket fee. This charge reflects the skills and costs involved in offering a top-quality imaging service.

No matter which type of service you require, our helpful staff can explain the billing process when you book your appointment.

Out of Pocket Expenses

Where services attract a gap payment, you will be informed at the time of your booking.

If you do need to pay any out-of-pocket fees, you may be asked to settle your account when you come in for your procedure and then submit your Medicare claim afterwards.

Our staff are more than happy to assist you with lodging your claim.

In-Patient Fees

Nepean Diagnostics operates independently from the hospital. If you received a bill from us during your hospital stay, it is separate from hospital charges. Typically, Medicare and health funds cover most exams, with an associated out-of-pocket fee.

The services bill is normally sent to you after being discharged. Where your hospital stay is prolonged, an interval bill may be issued while still having treatment.

We appreciate these accounts to be settled within a reasonable time. When your account is paid, we will send a receipt which can be taken to Medicare to claim any rebate due.

Payment Options

Settling your account at reception is easy.

If the account is bulk billed, we will simply require your Medicare Card, some ID and the referral letter.

For services with an out-of-pocket component, we ask that the bill be paid completely. Payment can be made with cash, card or EFTPOS. We will supply a receipt with the appropriate Item Number(s) listed and you can take this to Medicare to receive the rebate amount.

Medicare Safety Net

If you are paying large amounts towards your medical expenses, you may be entitled to receive a higher rebate via the Medicare Safety Net. Find out more at Medicare Australia or call the Medicare hotline on 132 011.
