Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in Australia, accounting for 9.2% of all deaths in 2023 (ABS, Oct 2024). However, the number of deaths from ischaemic heart disease have been steadily decreasing over the last decade. This positive trend reflects a combination of improved early diagnosis, better management of risk factors and advancements in treatment options.
Beginning in April 2019, Nepean Diagnostics has invested in the latest generation of premium cardiac CT scanners and was rapidly established as the pivotal centre for cardiac imaging services for the Nepean Blue Mountains region. As a key cardiac imaging provider, Nepean Diagnostics is actively supporting patient care at Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Hospitals.
